Zika Virus & 22 Weeks Pregnant - Should we cancel our cruise to Easter Caribbean?

Thanks everyone, agree. We are going to cancel. Working on Alaska or Western Mexico, not as exciting but not worth taking the risk.

 

We have a 2 year old and a cruise around Japan sounds amazing but that flight with a 2 year old! :eek:

 

I agree that canceling is best but why would you switch to western Mexico? All of Mexico is on the cdc list for having local transmission of the zika virus.

Just imagine how awesome it will be some day to take your beautiful, healthy child on a cruise to the Caribbean. You can tell them about that time they went to Alaska before they were even born. :) Congrats!

You made the right choice. Those ports will be there in the future. There's a lot we can't control, especially with keeping our children safe. But I couldn't go against advisories and warnings for something I could easily control, like a vacation destination. I think I'd rather go to a tropical location over Alaska any day, but everyone raves about Alaska cruises so much, so I think if you switched to one you'd probably end up wondering why it wasn't your first choice to begin with. Have fun.
