sign and sail account for minor

We are sailing on the Carnival Breeze very soon (yeah!) and I was wondering - can we set up my son's (14 yo) sign and sail card with cash - he will NOT have charging privileges on our credit card - he wants to bring his own lawn mowing money to play video games, etc (he has purposely been saving for this since he knows I will allow very little for this LOL). Can we put cash on his sign and sail card or does it go on the account for the room?

Thanks!

We have taken our teenage daughter on two cruises so far, with her third coming up in Dec 2016. Every time, we gave her a specific amount she was allowed to spend on our sail & sign account. We told her that whatever she had left at the end of the cruise, she could have in actual currency to take home. I think we allowed $10 per day, including our two traveling days.

The first time, she blew her entire budget on Day One, in the arcade...she was convinced she could beat The Vault!

The second time, she finished out the cruise with money left over, even after buying two special drinks at shows, and buying souvenirs in ports, and was quite happy to take home some cash!

You can set limits at the kiosk, but don't know if you can do cash to the card there or not.

My girls used all theirs in the arcade as well. One of them won a spongebob card (With a mag stripe on it) She had no idea what it was for so she asked guest services. She said the guy at guest services had no idea and had never been in the arcade. He called the casino (who is over the arcade) and found out that it had a ticket value on the card. He then followed up with "so...what are the tickets use for?" All new to him and my daughter found that quite funny the interest he took in the whole process. At they end I can't remember what piece of junk they got with all the tickets. Though on the way home, we stopped at a rest stop and one of the stuffed animals they probably spent an unholy amount of money trying to win was for sale for $4 at the rest stop.

Ok good thank you my plan is to set limits onboard. He only gets $100 for the whole trip, 20/day. I was able to add cash to his card last year.

Yes we were on the Breeze in June and I set up a 25.00 daily limit for my son through the kiosk. We also added cash on to the account. I think the cash just went on the whole account and not just to his card. We do the same, my don is 12 and had to use his own money for games. I did treat him and swiped my card at the arcade some days and also paid for the thrill theater for him. One thing though, the day our tips hit his account he could not use the card anymore that day. The tips didn't hit until day 3 I believe unlike before.

I opened up spending privileges for him and added the limit. Either way if you set the limit and then take cash and apply it to the whole account it will balance. I would just make sure his card cannot go over the daily limit you set.
