When you are in your stateroom turn on the TV and scan the available channels.

Usually one of the single digit channels 2-3-4 or somewhere there abouts

you will find a rotating navigation report channel featuring time of day in

various cities - weather reporting - Report from the Bridge - Distance traveled

from the port of origin - Rough image of where you are now - information on

the next port and time of arrival - and other useless insignificant data to amuse

your captive interest - this channel is 24/7

Scanning other channels - a BBC channel - some foreign football (soccer)

game (HOPE NCL COVERS (some)THE OLYMPICS IN RIO !!!) - some late

reporting on the stock market - a 24/7 bow camera - a movie channel or two

- and a children's cartoon channel - restaurant reservations availability -

and on larger ships maybe more channels of interest.

Lastly on some ships a menu is presented and when you enter the pin number

or other key you can check on your sail & sign on board account to see how

much you are going to need to win at the casino to pay your bill and leave

the ship unscratched of debt.

Some of the ships TV's have ports for USB devices to show or play your own

movies CD's etc. - some DVD movies maybe unplayable due to foreign coding

(copyrights) !

Now don't touch that dial (er oh remote) - TV's you know you can't live

with-em and can't live withOUT-em !

Carry-On Captain TV !

Navigation channel's info-display on the Breakaway - yes, you can see the relative location of the ship

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/64025118/2015%20NCL%20BA/IMG20150328_1632.jpg, time & distance from last port and to next port ...

Otherwise, info scrolling across & different screens aren't all that informative, I find the older Dawn/Jewel class ships (still ??? ) used to show more real-time info, i.e. wind direction & wind speed, pool & hot tub temperature, etc. It is what it is, I guess.
