Has Anyone EVER

Has anyone ever had a free or very cheap inside cabin on a casino deal, and been offered or given an upgrade? I am just wondering because my little Grandson and I are in a cabin that fits 4 people on the Vista Barcelona in September. All interior 3 or 4 person rooms are sold out. There are very few 2 person interiors left all on 8 or above.

Sounds like you're in a can't lose position, though I'm not too sure that booking engines ever give the true story on cabin availability.

When booking my recent Alaska cruise only balcony cabins were listed as available. However, inside cabins were available later on, probably released by TAs.

If what your asking is can you upgrade from casino offer free inside cabin the answer is yes if there are any casino allotted balcony or suites available. It is limited on each cruise. We upgraded our free interior or a grand suite on our upcoming Magic cruise.

Good luck and enjoy the cruise!

No, not free. At the time of booking, you can ask what the price difference would be if you upgraded to a higher class of cabin. Yes, we always do that and pay extra for a balcony. Typically save the amount that one person would pay. So, essentially it turns out Buy one get one...for us.

I just wondered if they might move us to a 2 person room if they needed the 4 person room. It really does not matter, especially with so much port time, I was just curious since they sold out of 4 person interiors.

I had a $179pp Casino Rate on the Glory last year. I stayed in the cabin by myself so had to pay double. Got a call from the Upsell Fairy and went from a 4A to a 6A for a total of $70. Same thing with my cruise mates. There were 2 of them sharing a cabin that had the same rate as me and since we were linked, she told me they could get the same deal. 2 upsells SOLD!

Gracias, that is what I was wondering because if they need the 4 person room I believe they can just move me to whatever 2 person is available.

Casino fare offered to bring back gamblers, often at lower rates and sometimes even free fares. Supposed to sign-up/register in the Casino during your cruise for the casino loyalty program.

They can keep tabs on your amount of play and reward guests with drinks-on-us and discounted cruise fares.

Upsells are much more likely than free upgrades on Carnival. Free cabin casino offers usually come with the option to pay a reduced upcharge at the time of booking for a balcony cabin, so being given that for free is not at all likely. For example when I booked a free inside cabin to Alaska this year, I paid $240 per person to upgrade to a balcony at time of booking.

I've been booking casino offers exclusively the past few years, and have never been offered a free upgrade.

There may be 3 or 4 person cabin availability that you cannot see online.

We were offered a free inside cabin - we upgraded to a Vista Aft Wrap Balcony for $350 per person -- INCREDIBLE deal! Can't wait to saill from NYC again!

I did the exact same thing - my sister & I both got bounce back rate - she kept the inside cabin for a total of $114.41 and I went for the Vista Aft Wrap for 634.41 (had to pay that nasty double occupancy rate to upgrade).

We split the total cost which ended up being under $400 each for both cabins. This gives us the best of both worlds - she can nap in her dark, dark interior, but enjoy the balcony whenever (she'll have a door key) and we each sleep in our own cabin at night so no sneaking in quietly late at night when the other sacked out early.

I've enjoyed the casino deals for the past several years and for the most part my sister (my cruise buddy) and I both get the deals. We learned 3 cruises ago that we could both book an interior cabin without paying double occupancy. I thank that PVP for pointing this out to me - it's been wonderful - someone to hang out with but my own private cabin!!

I get casino deals from Carnival and Norwegian and they are not free cruises. There are fees you have to pay. I am leaving next week on a free Eastern Caribbean that cost me $450 for an OV. I have called and called for a balcony upgrade/upsell. No balcony upsells available but they would have given me a suite for $1500 times 2 since I am a solo cruiser. Carnival has never offered me an upgrade of my casino cabins.
