krb1000 Posted July 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Hello, In Nov. we'll be coming off a Panama Canal cruise...driving from SanDiego to San Francisco, with a (2 day) stop over in Carmel...and then 4 nights in Napa valley before SF. I've been on Trip Advisor for days now...and can't seem to pull the trigger...any suggestions for accommodations would be greatly appreciated.(We'd like to keep it under $500.00 per night) Thanks so much! Karynanne Posted July 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Charlie Palmer's Harvest Inn is lovely. Also Villagio in Yountville. Both beautiful properties. Nov. is a great time to visit wine country. The summer tourists are gone.
Rare hammo Posted July 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2016 We are staying at Windhaven Cottage in October - have a look at that - you can spend the balance of the $500 on wine.
NurseDave Posted July 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2016 The Harvest Inn property is lovely, but service is very spotty. I wouldn't stay there again. There are many bed and breakfasts in downtown Napa which are very nice and a good location. We've personally stayed at Blackbird Inn and would again. We also like the Meritage if you want something with more amenities like a pool, spa, restaurant, etc.
RizzleBizzle Posted August 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2016 Napa resident here, born and raised. The Meritage is a good spot if you want to stay near the city of Napa. If you are doing a lot of wine tasting then you'll probably want to stay somewhere further north. The Vintage Inn and Hotel Yountville in Yountville are excellent. Also check out The Cottages of Napa Valley. Out of the way and very quiet. If your price range is anywhere near $500/night, you will likely not be disappointed with any place you choose. Hospitality service here is above and beyond anywhere else I've ever been.
Editrix Posted August 8, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2016 Have you considered Maison Fleurie in Yountville? My husband and I stayed there twice. http://www.maisonfleurienapa.com/ Friends have stayed at Lavender (a sister property) and also loved it. http://www.lavendernapa.com/ Both properties are within walking distance of Bottega (a Michael Chiarello restaurant) and all of Thomas Keller's establishments, including the French Laundry and Bouchon Bakery. ducklite Posted August 17, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 17, 2016 That time of the year there might be specials at the Cottages of Napa Valley to keep it in your price range. I love, love, love that place. The Verasa right in downtown Napa is walking distance to some great restaurants and a handful of tasting rooms. Absolutely second this. Yountville is the perfect place to stay and the "sisters" properties are all wonderful. Also in November your $500 should serve you well. We loved Maison Fleurie. I believe it has just had a big time make over. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
