roquejo Posted July 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2016 Any updates on the current internet for Solstice in its Alaska sailing. I've read a recent review complaining on the internet on the Solstice so a bit concerned. In the first place, is the internet satellite signal in the Alaska inside passage good all through out? Coz I recalled in my Serenade sailing in Norwegian Fjords, there is a dead spot in the Geirangerfjord area when we don't have internet the entire day.. but speed became better as we are nearing Copenhagen. Any dead spots in Alaska especially in the remote Tracy Arm/Endicott Arm area?
Chicogirl Posted July 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2016 (edited) Spotty Internet, better when in town. Zero by the glacier. If it did not come with the room, I most likely would not have gotten it. BTW I just returned on 7/22. Edited July 30, 2016 by Chicogirl

Or it is still filled with ice and you went to Endicott Arm instead?

Seespot Posted August 2, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 2, 2016 As posted, no Internet for hours before or after glaciers. Sea days are spotty depending on how remote. We had unlimited use and we're generally pleased as one simply needs to look outside to see how remote you truly are. Also Skagway was very very spotty. All other ports and nearby areas were really good
GateGuardian Posted August 2, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 2, 2016 What type of cellphone plan do you have? It may be easier/cheaper to just tether and use your cellphone data.
