Guarantee cabibs - Carnival

We just went ahead and booked a guarantee cabin for us...

not expecting any upgrades within the same category to be honest, and just went for one purely due to $$.

curious to hear how long would it take Carnival to assign the cabins?

If lets say we wont be too happy with the cabin (mainly concerned about the noise level, as kids might be woken up) would it be possible to try and get a different cabin (1 - 2 decks lower?) ?

The cabin could be assigned the day you board but usually a few weeks before and your chances of being able to change your cabin allocation would depend on how full the cruise is, you may be able to change it but maybe not.
