Shipsareus Posted August 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2016 We enjoyed a great cruise around the Baltic on Emerald Princess in early June. We wrote postcards and bought stamps at the customer service. They then took the cards and said they would be posted from St Petersburg. The cost of the stamps was just under $3 per card which was put onto our account. No cards have arrived six weeks later! Has anyone been successful doing this? OCruisers Posted August 2, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2016 After three months I had given up on ever getting ours from Russia but they did finally arrive. :)
The Wilkies Posted August 2, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 2, 2016 We gave ours to our Alla guide. Arrived about a month after we arrived home.
Rare azbirdmom Posted August 2, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2016 It will arrive eventually. I don't know why but any cards we have mailed from the ship always take a very long time to arrive. Had one arrive from a Panama Canal trip 3 months later!
Shipsareus Posted August 4, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Well, amazingly they have arrived today! I think that I will use a company that makes a postcard out of any picture that you send them and then automatically sends it. Last one we got from friends arrived in 2 days! FritzG Posted August 4, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2016 You're lucky. I don't think more than one or two cards we've sent from cruises in Europe have arrived in the last 9 years. We finally gave up and just send pictures via email.

Thrak Posted August 4, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 4, 2016 I have read a number of posts here on CC saying it's "normal" for cards and letters posted from the ship to take an extremely long time to be delivered. I think they send them through a special post office somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle.
