Ecstasy cruise several months later...

How funny time can be - we left the Ecstasy in May vowing to never sail the ship again. The ship was not in good condition compared to her older sister the Fantasy (rust everywhere, burnt out light bulbs, broken trim in our stateroom), the comedians were not particularly funny (one did nothing but make tired racist jokes), and the ship had the same old playlist shows that were featured on the Fantasy in 2014 (and probably farther back than that).

We just called Carnival and booked a cruise in February on her. I guess the things that irked us weren't such a big deal after all. All we've talked about since the cruise was how much better the food was than the Fantasy (even though the food choices and menus were largely the same), how much funner the staff was than the Fantasy, how nice it was to be able to drive down the morning of the cruise without leaving at midnight, and how wonderful it was to be on a ship that we knew how to navigate from day 1. I remember folks not being sure how to get to a particular dining room or floor on day 3 of our last cruise. We knew the ship aft to stern, port to starboard, from the second we saw it from the parking lot in Charleston.

We cancelled our Magic cruise for January and booked the Ecstasy instead. The Fantasy class ships still have it. I am VERY excited to see what the dry dock has in store for the Ecstasy - and I am also glad to see that Ben will be our cruise director again.

I too, love the Fantasy Class ships, and have sailed most of them time, and time again, with never a disappointment! Sailed "Ecstasy" again not long ago, and had a fantastic time aboard. I know you'll have an outstanding cruise aboard "Ecstasy". ;)

A cruise is all what you make of it. I have seen people ruin their vacation with minor complaints. We are actually headed to the Ecstasy right now. I will have to update with my impressions when we get back. This will be my 15th cruise - 1st time Carnival, 1st time out of SC and 1st time with a suite.

I love cruising Carnival! Leaving in 6 days to board the Ecstasy. Does anyone know how the piano guy is in the piano bar? Or if there is live music anywhere on the ship in the evening and if so, if you enjoyed it?

The Ecstasy has a fantastic entertainment team. There was live music most nights in front of the casino bar, and in the atrium/on Lido there is often a DJ or steel drum player.
