Awesome! Let me know. You can email me at any time on my Yahoo account by clicking the "Y" in the top corner!

Will do. Price isn't too bad for the 4 of us considering it's a 7 day cruise. I just paid $9,000 for 7 days on Oasis and only 3 ports.... Lol. I can get a similar suite on Glory for $3,500 with 4 ports... wow. My wife prefers more ports, so she may love it.

We just got off Conquest Saturday and I was sad I couldn't find a place to hide and stay on it. It's about 15 years old and was the first of its class. over 100,000 tons so it is pretty big although not the biggest or newest they have. It has fantastic staff and I loved or at least liked almost everything I ate on-board.

Bear in mind that was our first Carnival cruise ever so we may have been starry-eyed. It was our 30th anniversary and we loved every minute of it. Had a wonderful time.

Having been reading these forums since I booked last March, I can tell you that anything Firemanbobswife has to say should be respected far more than anything I say about the ships. I'm still just a n00b. ;)

Well thank you very much [emoji3] Glad you had a great cruise!

I never have stayed in a suite. The perks are practically nonexistent and I'm cheap [emoji4]. LOL!! It would be bigger and you would have the balcony for sure. Only you can decide if it's worth it or not. Can't go wrong either way!

The suite on Glory is "meh" - and I wouldn't either if just 2 of us. It's just a slightly larger room, more akin to a normal SMALL hotel room! Benefit with 2 tiny kids is the bathtub. I don't know what Carnival does for perks, but on Royal you get a few - like a very nice special restaurant, priority boarding, etc. Nothing amazing and honestly, that's why I'm looking at just regular OV this time. I'd do the Crown Lofts if I wanted a really special cruise with just my wife, or maybe the Haven on NCL. But that's not to say any room isn't a special treat, right?

I may just save the $1,000 and do a regular OV. The rooms look more than adequate and really quite decent for a regular room on Glory. I'll hopefully find out soon and will let you know if we end up booking it.

I would NEVER EVER book a guarantee, and here is why: While you aren't concerned with where they place you on the ship (forward, aft, midship) you SHOULD care where they place you in reference to certain areas of the ship. I have stayed under the galley once, and will never book there again! There are horror stories of being just above the casino band, disco, and other late-night loud venues.

Why would you risk your vacation over a few dollars which is a fraction of the amount you are already spending? Take the time to look at floor plans, and book a cabin that will allow you the down time you deserve! :)

The Conquest is the oldest of the Conquest Class ships. I got married on her [emoji4]. I actually prefer the Glory of you can't tell! The thing I don't like about Conquest is no Serenity Deck. It's not important to many, but it is to me. I have only been on Conquest Class ships on Carnival so I really can't compare. I like the size. Not too small and not too big. Love Guy's Burgers.

I think that size of ship would be a good step up from what you have been on. My next ship hopefully after my upcoming Glory cruise will be the Vista. We'll see.

Whenever school is out is the best time for pricing. The days of last minute deals are all but gone. The early bird seems to get the worm. Join me October 15. Prices are decent!

I love the Conquest! And while it's true that there is no serenity area, the pool at the aft IS adults only and I didn't see any children at all back there when I was last on (Feb 2016).

The Glory's OV looks almost identical to the Conquest balcony room we had with respect to the furniture and layout. We actually booked that room guarantee and I don't think I would do it again. While I don't care whether I am forward, mid, or aft or which deck I am on, I do need a quiet location and this one wasn't. We were on deck 8 mid near the atrium and there was a lot of noise each night.

To the OP- I think you're going to have a fabulous time on CCL! Very relaxed atmosphere which is perfect for a family, IMO.

You are correct about the decor and layout. They are the same. Glory also has the adults only aft pool. That is a big plus for me and another reason why I enjoy the Conquest Class ships.

Honestly, how am I to know if the room I select is above the casino band or under the galley?

My wife is looking into a few things to see if we can do the Oct 15th cruise, it looks like we should be able to. Timing is perfect. Being Danish, just nonsense green card stuff, but hope to confirm in the next day or two. If it works out, let's have some drinks in the Serenity section :)

Love to meet some wonderful people.

There are deck plans available online for Conquest (and all other cruise line ships). I personally use cruisedeckplans.com - it has a unique feature that allows you to literally drag one deck's layout over another and see what is above or below.

My girls are teens and we will be finally taking them on their first cruise in Feb. which will be on the Conquest. It will be my DH and I's fourth cruise. I am so excited to see them experience their first cruise I have a 4 person interior on the Lido booked. I know they have two uppers but does anyone have any pics?

I'm not sensitive to noise.... at all. Which is good. I think I'll skip the guarantee just because I like having it set. I'll definitely check out the deck plans, and if I book the 10/15 cruise - I may run it by all you pros :)

That would be awesome! Shoot me over an email before you book and we can discuss cabins and stuff. Are you going to do early dining? If so I would love to eat dinner with you guys.

Be careful what you wish for - we have a 2 and 4 year old, lol.

I'll definitely let you know either way. But yes, we love MDR dining and will do the 6:00 - 6:30 or whatever one they have.

Cool. The kids are fine. I would much rather deal with little ones vs drama with adults! I am as drama free as they come [emoji4] I do t think you would let them sit there and scream their heads off, right?!

Nothing in stone yet. Hoping to know by tomorrow. However, it's looking like Allure is more likely. Royal has a kids sail free promotion going that came out today, and with 2 kids.... it's actually cheaper than Glory - which makes it kind of a no brainer in our case. So I think we may do the 10/16 Allure sailing.

However, we'll be doing Carnival for sure next year at some point. I'm sure we'll link up soon :)

I would like to do a Carnival ship that has the proper WaterWorks. That really appeals to my kids considering their age. I'm just worried a ship like Glory won't have much for them.

[emoji20]. I understand why you would switch ships of the price is better. Didn't you say something before about the kids programs not working for your family on Royal?

They are less than ideal - notably my 2 year old will go in the toddlers program for an extra charge. But even with the extra charge, we'll be cheaper on Allure. The ship also has so much more to offer outside of the kids programs that the kids enjoy - ice skating show, aquatheater show, they LOVE the carousel and boardwalk, etc. Plus the H20 zone/water park.

All things equal (or cheaper in this case) - I think Allure is a better ship.

Can't say I find fault with your way of thinking. Sad I won't get to meet you guys but I'm sure you'll have a great time. Maybe think about Vista or the Magic if you're looking for more amenities.
