Taxi Tours??

We went to Barbados in 2006. We did a ship tour that time and went to town after the tour. On the way back to the ship by taxi, the taxi guy said next time we are in Barbados we can get a taxi to take us around the island.

 

Is this a good ideal? Has anyone done this and what would be the general cost for one taxi and two people? We will be there in Dec. Not looking to do a lot of ship tours on this trip.

 

Also we are not beach people and don't want to be taken to a beach for hours at a time.

We just did a tour in Barbados with Glory Tours (very highly recommended)...We did the 1/2 day tour as we didn't want any beach time either and this tour worked out great....Google their website.
