Uber and NY Penn Station

When you leave the terminal if you might want to simply get a yellow cab, there will be many, especially if you are on the eighth avenue entrance. It's very congested there though so it might not be easy for an uber to pull over and for you to spot them. On 34 street there are two addresses I know mid block that there are not a lot of people hanging around. One is One Penn Plaza and the other is the entrance to K mart (look up address). I'm sure others will have other and maybe better ideas.

I have looked on maps and Penn station to the NCL port looks like a short distance. However I know nothing about traffic there on a Sunday. Would planning 15 min from Penn Station to the port on a Sunday be about right ?

I am hoping less than $20 for a cab ?

Exit on the 8th Avenue side and not the 7th Avenue side. I take the train to NY alot and always exit at 8th Avenue & 31st Street. 31st Street heads west. If you don't want to walk you could call Uber and tell them to meet you at 8th Ave on the south side of 31st St. That way you're avoiding the taxi stand, which goes from 34th to 31st Street.

As an FYI traffic around Penn Station is always bad - no matter what day of the week or time of the day.

A little longer than 15 is possible as a cab has to go north past the pier 3 blocks and come back to get on the ramp to the drop off. Then you could have a short wait to reach the drop area.

Or tell the cab to let you off at the northbound corner of 12th Ave and 48th st

Cross the street and take elevator up to checkin

If you can walk and roll a luggage you can do this

If you overpack or have mobility issues or babies etc then just have the cab take you there
