trbasso Posted August 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2016 Hello! We've always packed plastic bottles of soda in our packed luggage, but Carnival (and others) have changed the rules for carry on soda. Those now have to be in your carry on and need to be in a can or carton. We want to comply with the new rules. What's the closest place near the port canaveral cruise terminal to buy soda or wine? Is it walkable? We'll be taking a shuttle from Orlando airport, so won't have a chance to stop along the way. Thank you!
Clarea Posted August 18, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2016 I cannot think of any store that would be walkable from the north side cruise terminals. There is a Publix and ABC store on Astronaut Blvd within 3 miles or so, but you would need a taxi for that. I don't know if a one-way rental car would work for your party, but that wuld give you the flexibility of stopping where you want.
skrufy Posted August 18, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2016 You have to go down A1A to get what you want. Its not walkable from the port.
Rare crewsweeper Posted August 18, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2016 Is the shuttle just for your group? You can ask the driver and others if you can stop. There's a Publix et. al. on Merritt Island just off that exit before you get to Port Canaveral. If the driver is familiar with the area, he'll know were it is. jakey2004 Posted August 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 20, 2016 Honestly...without a rental car you have no choices within walking distance. Just an FYI the Carnival dock is on the north side of the port...so not really walk able to anything. Now....if you have privileges at any of our military exchanges....the Coast Guard exchanges is located a 1/2 mile from the normal Carnival dock. trbasso Posted August 22, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted August 22, 2016 Thanks everyone! Sounds like a one-way rental car is the easiest solution. That way we won't have to wait on the shuttle too!
