Maybe our experience is different, but we have found the "refrigerator" in the room nothing more than a cooler (if that). I can't imagine drinking the beer from the mini bar because it would be so warm. I love my beer ice cold.

I know all that but if you have a premium bev package, why not include the mini bar. You have effectively unlimited alcohol and every thing in the mini bar is in the package. Why should it not be included.

(1) to get yet more money out of you

(2) to stop you nicking the contents and taking it home with you. - if people will take the shampoo and the towels if they think they can take the contents of the minibar home many will do so. The contents of the minibar have a value.
