Just curious, have attended and organized a number of "Slot Pulls" in conjunction with a M&G.

Does anyone have a Slot Machine Type ( Wheel of Fortune, 1 Line $5 Reel, etc.) that you prefer to use over others ?

cheers...the Ump...:D

Everyone I have ever done with the exception of one was on a Wheel of Fortune machine. It lends itself well to this type of thing because of the top wheel which spins during the bonus and everyone can see it and cheer "big money, big money" like they do on the show.

I once had to do one on a machine that was not wheel of fortune and it was much harder, then we got the bonus and it involved picking....and then who picks?

And if the person spinning picks....and picks wrong there are groans and its hard on the person picking.

Good luck and have fun!!!

The majority seem to go for WOF. Personally, I don't like it because the odds are often worse than most other machines. My last cruise there were about 27 of us and each took 5 spins. We had all of 2, maybe 3 spins for dinky amounts. Obviously, it could have been a bettter (hot!) machine :-)

I would rather do something like Quick Hits. Yes, bonuses have you pick but the one who is playing at that moment does the picking. People cheer for that person just like they do for whoever spins on WOF. I don't think any one will get stoned for being a "poor" picker!

For the noobs here: can you please elaborate a little more about this "slot pull" event in conjunction with a meet and greet? I may bring this up in my sailing's roll call thread ☺️

How I explained it in my roll call...

We'll be having a Slot Pull shortly after the Meet & Greet, with a $20 buy in. To those that aren't familiar, a Slot Pull is a fun & quick social event where we collectively play a single slot machine, each of us taking 6 spins. We'll keep track of who has the most successful turn, and that person will win a small side pot. $2 of the $20 goes to the side pot, while the remaining $18 is for 6 x $3 spins. Once complete, the overall pot is split between all players. I've never lost more than $5-6 from a similar setup, so it's an inexpensive opportunity to have some fun with the group.

I've seen them run with or without the side pot. Whoever puts it together can come up with $$ amounts and how it'll play out. If you arrange it with the casino manager, they often provide some bottles of wine or other giveaways that can be handed out to other high spinners.

Thanks for the post! I'll ask my roll call if they want to do this, as it sounds like fun! Also: how would I go about contacting the boat's (Jade) casino manager prior to the cruise?

You don't (typically). Stop by the casino once you board and ask for the Casino Manager or the Exec Casino Host, and either will be happy to help you out.

The below is an example of how I have organized it.

Note the part about a possible W2G win and who takes responsibility. Since you're from Canada, I understand you would not be taxed if you used your card. I would recommend talking to a casino host or casino manager about a potential jackpot and how they would handle it. There is an IRS form that can divide the winnings among a group but not sure if they would use that, the player's card in the machine or who was actually playing at the time.

I highly recommend having an assistant to log names, how many spins each player has completed, and the amount they accumulated on their spin.

The last one I did, we won and a casino employee hung around the area we were in and offered to cash our ticket and divide it equally. I don't remember how much we won (maybe about $7 ea?) I think most enjoyed it and the woman that won had never played a slot machine before :-)

Good luck...they're a lot of fun!

SLOT PULL

* Sunday January 31st @ 2:30PM in the casino. Meet and sign up from 2:00 to 2:30 PM at the SKYLINE BAR which is adjacent to the casino. You may also sign up at the Meet and Greet.

* The entry is 20.00 for (1) share and please have change: a 10, 5 and (5) 1's. You may split a share with one person and can divide the spins.

* 18.00 will be put into a machine by each entrant. 2 dollars will go into "kitty" to be distributed to the person who generates the most most dollars with their spins, along with any winnings that can't be evenly divided. Every share will have (6) pulls if a 3 dollar coin machine or (9) pulls if a 2 dollar coin machine. The reason the machine and

denomination hasn't been determined because I haven't been on the Escape to see what is available.

* After all spins have been completed, the winnings will be divided evenly. If some want to continue, I would assist with the tracking and distribution; could be a really hot machine, after all!

* I will use my CAS card in the machine we use and take responsibility for any WG's (tax form) we may incur .....wishful thinking! If we do hit a jackpot over $1200.00, I will deduct my state tax percentage before distributing any winnings. In my state, I can't offset winnings with losses on my tax return.
