Cruise leaves Sat

My friend and her family booked a ship to leave this Sat 8/27.

She is in a cabin with her husband who has now decided to not go.

She thinks she purchased insurance...

Should she call now and use her insurance to cancel or just have him as a no show on Sat during check in?

She should leave it as a no-show. If he cancels, she will then have to pay the single supplement, which is equal to his cruise fare. They will refund his port fees.

If he has a reason to cancel that is covered by insurance, and that insurance would also cover the cost of the single supplement because of his cancellation, only then would I cancel. They should be aware that they will be out-of-pocket for the single supplement until the insurance reimburses them.
