teach/2/cruise Posted August 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2016 We are sailing on the Infinity in September and wondering what our wine choices would be for the wine packages. Does anyone have the list of wines you can choose for the Classic Wine Package and the Premium Wine Package. It would help us make our decision seeing what package has our favorite red wine. :)
Rare cruisestitch Posted August 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2016 The wines that are available vary from ship to ship and cruise to cruise. To make very sure you will find something you are seeking, you probably ought to wait until you are on the ship to purchase a wine package. jelayne Posted August 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Wine lists have been posted on CC so a search may get you some information. However, because a wine is listed doesn't mean it will be available on your cruise. As cruisestich said selections can vary from ship to ship and cruise to cruise. rockdoctor Posted August 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2016 If you are concerned with what wines are available on the beverage packages, my advice to you is don't use the packages. I have never seen really good wines by the glass.
docandbird Posted August 25, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Wines by the glass not only vary from ship to ship and change over time, but different venues (main dining room, Cellar Masters, specialty restaurants, etc) offer some different wines. A wine available ANYWHERE on the ship by the glass can be requested in any other venue. Example - Cellar Masters had a nice Spanish Priorat by the glass, but the main dining room only listed it by the bottle. When I told our dining room sommelier that the Priorat was available by the glass in Cellar Masters, he made it available to us by the glass at dinner. To give you some idea of what is available by the glass, here is the main dining room wine list from last year's trans-Atlantic we did: CHAMPAGNES & SPARKLING WINES $ 8.00 – BRUT, Celebrity Vintages, Loire, France $ 11.00 – BRUT, Domaine Chandon, “Classic”, California $ 9.00 – CAVA BRUT, Codorniu, , “Anna du Codorniu”, Spain $ 22.00 – GRAND BRUT, Champagne Perrier-Jouet, France $ 9.00 – PROSECCO EXTRA DRY, Fantinel, “Cuvee Prestige”, Italy $ 18.00 – ROSÈ, Domaine Chandon, “Etoile”, California WHITE WINES $ 8.50 – ALBARINO, Raimat, “Castell de Raimat”, Costers Del Segre, Spain $ 19.50 – CHARDONNAY, Grgich Hills, Napa Valley $ 8.50 – CHARDONNAY, Benziger Family Winery, Sonoma Coast $ 10.50 – CHARDONNAY, Celebrity Cruises, “Cellar Master”, California $ 9.50 – CHENIN BLANC, Ken Forrester, Stellenbosch, South Africa $ 11.00 – GRÜNER VELTLINER, Anton Bauer, “Gmörk”, Wagram, Austria $ 13.50 – POUILLY-FUMÉ, Michel Redde, “Le Petit”, Loire, France $ 9.00 – PINOT-GRIGIO, Bollini, Trentino, Italy $ 9.00 – RIESLING, Kabinett, J&H Selbach, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, Germany $ 10.50 – SAUVIGNON BLANC, Clifford Bay, Marlborough, New Zealand $ 8.00 – VIOGNIER, Jean-Luc Colombo, “La Violette”, Languedoc, France $ 14.50 – WHITE BLEND, Conundrum, California BLUSH / ROSE WINES $ 9.00 – ROSÈ, Jean-Luc Colombo, “Cape Bleue”, Cotes de Provence, France $ 15.00 – ROSÈ, Prêt à Boire, Napa Valley $ 7.00 – WHITE ZINFANDEL, Beringer, California RED WINES $ 10.50 – CABERNET SAUVIGNON, “Cellar Masters”, California $ 19.50 – CABERNET SAUVIGNON, Freemark Abbey, Napa Valley $ 9.00 – CABERNET SAUVIGNON, Wente Vineyards, “Heritage Blend”, San Francisco Bay $ 9.00 – CARMÉNÈRE, Montgras, “Reserva”, Colchagua Valley, Chile $ 10.50 – CHIANTI CLASSICO, Nozzole, “Villa di Nozzole”, Tuscany, Italy $ 9.00 – MERLOT, Clos la Chance, Central Coast, California $ 10.50 – MALBEC, Alta Vista, “Classic”, Mendoza, Argentina $ 12.50 – MEDOC, Cru Supérieur, Château Castera, Bordeaux, France $ 10.50 – PINOT NOIR, Kendall-Jackson, “Vintner’s Reserve”, California $ 21.00 – PINOT NOIR, La Crema, Willamette Valley, Oregon $ 9.00 – SHIRAZ, Ross Estate, “Lights Out”, Barossa Valley, Australia $ 11.00 – SYRAH/GRENACHE, Perrin & Fils, Vinsorbes $ 8.50 – TEMPRANILLO, Cune, Crianza, Rioja, Spain $ 14.50 – ZINFANDEL, Dry Creek Vineyard, “Old Vines”, Sonoma County, California, USA LATE HARVEST WINES (Lush & Silky) $ 10.00 – SAUTERNES, Barton & Guestier, Bordeaux, France $ 12.00 – MUSCAT DE RIVESALTES, Château de Jau, Rouissillon, France $ 12.50 – FURMINT, Oremus, Tokaji, Hungary $ 14.50 – RIESLING, Pacific Rim, “Vin de Glaciere, Selenium Vineyard”, Columbia Valley, Washington $ 31.00 – VIDAL BLANC, Ice Wine, Peller Estates, “Signature Series”, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada FORTIFIED WINES (Rich & Refined) $ 8.00 – LATE-BOTTLED VINTAGE PORT, Fonseca, Porto, Douro, Portugal $ 8.00 – TAWNY PORT, Taylor Fladgate, “10 Year Old”, Porto, Douro, Portugal $ 14.50 – TAWNY PORT, Taylor Fladgate, “20 Year Old”, Porto, Douro, Portugal $ 11.00 – MADEIRA, Cossart Gordon, “5 Year Old”, Bual $ 15.00 – MADEIRA, Blandy’s, “15 Year Old”, Malmsey
james'mommy Posted August 25, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Chances are most of the wines won't be wines you can get where you live. DH found a great cab on our last cruise and asked the wine steward about it and she said it wasn't available in the states.
Rare killsport Posted August 25, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Most of celebrity's wines are 3-4x mark-ups. That is on par with a very upscale land-based restaurant. <nerd alert> Keep in mind that these are priced *without* knowing the vintage, which makes a huge difference for wine prices </nerd alert> celebrity wine.pdf

QuakerBoy Posted August 25, 2016 #9 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Generally speaking, the wines by the glass available on the Classic package are very limited, and pretty lower shelf. Upgrading to Premium is not that expensive and will give you much more selection and better quality. As suggested, you can wait and upgrade on board if you are not satisfied with the Classic. It's simple to do. Just ask any bartender or server ant they will take care of you in a few minutes.
wallie5446 Posted August 25, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 25, 2016 (edited) My wife has zero wine knowledge. She lets her taste buds decide which she drinks. Last cruise she finally found one she liked, it was $13.50 a glass. We upgraded to the Premium pkg and our cost was .59 cents a glass. teach/2/cruise Posted August 26, 2016 Author #13 Share Posted August 26, 2016 That is why I was asking what the choices are. If we there is not a bottle of wine we like in the wine packages we won't buy it. I wish we could fine out what the choices are prior to our cruise but if we can't we will make our decision onboard. Thanks everyone for your help
