IECalCruiser Posted August 27, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2016 (edited) I can't tell you the earliest time, but we typically arrive at the pier by around 10:30 and that is what we did for our cruise out of Copenhagen. I doubt your hotel checkout time will be before 10:00 so you shouldn't need late checkout. You are assigned a check-in/boarding group and directed to the the seating area for that group. When boarding started at around noon they went to each seating area and directed you to go to check in where you got your cruise card and proceeded directly to boarding. This is the only port where we have seen them use this process. Sent from my iPad using Forums Edited August 27, 2016 by IECalCruiser

Forums Are you assigned when you arrive or pre-assigned by booking ? i.e. is this progressive boarding ? Edited August 27, 2016 by Tedferg
Poulsbo Cruisers Posted August 27, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2016 We arrived a little before noon last year and got right on. Even though we had priority boarding, it wasn't really needed. It was a very quick process for everyone.
IECalCruiser Posted August 28, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 28, 2016 Are you assigned when you arrive or pre-assigned by booking ? i.e. is this progressive boarding ?Not pre-assigned and not progressive booking. At most ports you check in, get your cruise card and are assigned a boarding group. When your group is called you can board. At least a couple of years ago in Copenhagen you received a boarding group after going through security and you waited in that group's seats until called. At that time you checked in, got your cruise card and boarded right away. Only port I have seen that process used.
