Courtyard Miami Downtown/Brickell Area or Marriott Biscayne Bay. Pros cons, etc... Thanks!!

 

Just looking to use my Marriott Points, but don't have enough for the JW.

Would love to know views as well. I wondered if Marriott Biscayne is too far away from everything especially if you don't have a car.

Pros for Bay: potential for an awesome view from your room, quieter location, larger hotel with more options to do in the lobby on the property of the hotel.

 

Cons: not right in the middle of downtown, but the metromover is nearby and takes you anywhere you want to go in the area for free.

 

 

Pros for Courtyard: location location location. Easy walk to Brickell, you are right in downtown with a quick hop on the free metromover to Bayside.

 

 

Cons: not as large of a hotel. Street noise, no views.

 

 

 

You won't go wrong with eithe, both are good locations. One is right in the middle, while the othe is a short walk and metromover ride away for anywhere you want to go in the area.,

I am not sure if your points would work but take a look at the Marriott Marquis or the JW Marriott.

 

Out of the two you mentioned I would go with the Marriott Biscayne Bay.

 

 

I think the Marriott Courtyard is OK but is in do for a refurbishment and is quite old.

 

 

I find that Marriott Biscayne Bay to be nicer. However, I am not a big fan of the area at night.

 

 

If you can swing one of the other two I would consider that.

 

 

Or take a look at Hampton Inn which I realize you can't use the point since it is part of the Hilton Family but I think there is a lot of value there (nice breakfast included) and good location.

The Marriott Courtyard needs an update. I just had a friend stay there and he said while clean, it was tired.

We are staying at Biscayne Bay. Stayed in 2008. We walked to the outdoor mall type area that had restaurants. The road was a little dicey. We got a ride back when it was dark. I would not walk it again. This time we will just uber wherever we want to go for dinner and to the port the next day. Enjoy!

We stayed at the courtyard in 2015 and it was very nice, close to lots of dining options, CVS and Walgreens.
