Mr & Mrs Happy Posted August 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2016 I was checking the board for Progresso and noticed someone had posted about an excursion we're going to do. Long story short, because of their post, there is a company offering the excursion we booked about $50.00 cheaper. I thought all you had to do was submit the information using the Price Protection form, which I did. I received an email about an hour later that it had been approved. I log into Carnival's site and noticed that I received an onboard credit of $50 BUT it also jacked up the booking rate at $20.00 p.p. leaving me to pay a balance of $40.00. Cruise is already paid for. I called, rep said the price protection form is just for cabin rates and that it could be switched back to the original rate. The only difference is that I gain a $10 onboard credit leaving as is. Not sure what I did wrong or what to do when a cheaper rate is found dealing with an excursion. This will be my 3rd cruise but I'm still at a loss as to how to do things...*sigh*
maldenmusic Posted August 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2016 I don't know what an excursion would have to do with your cruise price, especially if it's already paid for. That doesn't seem right to me. Hopefully someone will have more info for you.
evandbob Posted August 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2016 Is the "best price guarantee" form the one that you submitted? If you sent in a different form for the cabin rate, that might explain the confusion. Here's a link to the Carnival shore excursion price guarantee form: https://www.carnival.com/request-forms/shore-excursion-best-price-guarantee.aspx

The form I filled out wasn't the one you provided as a link. I will try that and see what happens. Thank you so much!!
