Mobile Passport App

There is a special line at terminal 2 and I was in it. Well actually no line based on my experience - but there was a completely separate lane for Mobile Passport.

 

What time did you go through? We were there at around 7:30 & hardly anyone was off the ship waiting yet. They directed us though the line to use with the new app although we didn't have it.

Did you notice any faster time for people that did have the app?

I'm just trying to determine if it's worth the space on my phone or not, even for 10 or 12 times a year. :cool:

We were off the ship at 9 and the terminal was a zoo, so it was well worth it. They made us show our completed receipts before they let us in the Mobile Passport lane. If you are off early then there's probably not much of a time savings. We opted for later disembarkation this time since we had a flight at 12:30.

So maybe it does pay to use the app....at lest for now until droves of others begin to do the same thing.

Maybe I'll download the app & fill out the card so I can pick the shortest line. :D

I realize this is and old thread and the original posters may not be looking but I am confused as to whether a husband and wife must both have a smartphone with their own Mobile Passport App, or, can they both use the same app on one phone? Thank you for any clarification someone can give.

A quick Google brought up the official website, and it seems you can set up your entire family on one app.

You can also use your iPad if you don't have a smartphone. I was just looking at the official website. I hope this will help.

This past March at Port Everglades at disembarkation we were able to skip ahead past about 50-60 pple to the Mobile Passport line with 3 people ahead of us. Do ask a rep where to go as we did go to the wrong line. We also used EZcheck which helped it all be even more painless!

Oh and for anyone interested in Global Entry....if you live near or visiting near a Canadian border you can get Nexus for $50 which is recognized as GE in the US.https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/nexus
