taxis at ft lauderdale airport

does anyone know is it hard to get a taxi to the port from the airport lately cause of the gas shortage in florida? going down next sunday to catch the star princess curious to know.

I would think it would be an easy fare and lots of taxis. The airport and the cruiseport are only about 5 miles apart. I don't know by actual experience because we never fly into FLL, but I have noticed lots of taxis at the cruiseport when we board the ship.

Good question - it is possible the taxis are not driving because they have had to stand in lines for an hour/hours to get gas. Hopefully someone returning yesterday or today can answer that question. Hopefully FLL is getting more electricity and these stations can open.

We arrived back in port yesterday and cabs were readily available. No problems at all. Fare was about $13.50 without tip as I recall.
