What are the minimum bets at the Black Jack table, roulette and craps? Does the minimum change throughout the day?

 

Should I prepay for chips on the HAL website or purchase at the casino?:):)

Blackjack had $10, $6 and sometimes $25.

Odds were less on the $6 tables. Blackjack paid $6 to $5.

$10 table paid 1.5X

No craps...at least not on the Veendam.

Why prepay? Do you get a discount?

Yes....when it gets busy, they do raise the stakes on most table games. I don't see a reason to pre-pay...they cost what they cost!!!

If it is slow, they will even offer cheaper stakes - have seen $1 minimums

but have also seen higher rates in the evening when it is busier.

In case this is your first cruise with HAL, there is smoking allowed in the casino except for one night when smoking is not allowed.

Blackjack was $5 min. on Oosterdam in March. roulette was $5 outside bets and $1 inside # bets. There was a higher limit blackjack table but I did not play there as I like to double up me bets on my own.

Casino was very slow during day and there were several gentlemen and I who often played together. I did not play at night. I came out over $800 ahead and had a blast. Looking forward to the Nieuw Amsterdam.....;)

The advantage for prepaying for chips is you don't have to bring as much cash.

Just off the Prinsendam and Blackjack was $6 minimum every time I was in the casino,

 

Never saw anyone using the roulette table.

 

Craps was $5 minimum.

 

I asked about the $6 Blackjack minimum and was told it was raised a couple of months ago.

 

Casino attendance was always light. Never saw any of the tables full.

We were on the Eurodam this summer where it was nonsmoking. Awesome! We saw Black Jack minimums at $5, $10, $15 and $25. Roulette was $5 inside and outside bets. Craps was $5. We had a group of 50 and there was at least 15 of us gambling every night, which made it fun. We closed down the casino most nights. All the games were played. I played 3 card, which I hit some nice wins.

Some ships have a craps table,, some do not. The minimum is $5. Double odds are allowed on pass/come bets but some of the other wagers are at a reduced payout compared to Vegas.
