Emerald or Dolphin deck for suite

I have a hold on a E725 on the grand princess for sept cruise. I just discovered it is above the showroom in the aft section. Will there be alot of noise coming up thru the floor to keep people awake? My older parents will be in there and probably will retire around 10PM at night. Going up one floor will cost $100 more, will it be worth the extra money for less noise?

I am also interested in anyone's experiences with the Emerald balconies. I know this has been covered in terms of the balconies being either covered or not BUT...this is my first sailing on Princess(help!!!).

My only experience has been two sailings on the NCL Dawn where I spent a lot of time on my covered balcony. I like to get out of the sun & weather.

My questions...are the mini-suite balconies on Emerald the same size as on Dolphin?

Do the lifeboats obsruct your views from these balconies?

I appreciate your help.

We were on the Emerald Deck, on the Coral Princess and it was totally covered. Nice size balcony and had no obstructed view. It was aft around the 600 number (can't remember the number). We will be on the Dolphin deck this Oct. on the Sapphire which is uncovered. Hope that helps.

Thank you mii and coral. I think I may change our cabin from Dolphin to Emerald deck.
