Ship time

Does the ship always stay on home port time, or does it change from port to port ? Does it specifically say anywhere on CCL web site.

Only once in 14 Carnival cruises did we ever change times, and that was last year in Alaska.

This year on Princess, and one time on Carnival (forget which cruise) we had to change times. They will let you know in the Funtimes and a ship announcement if you need to spring forward or fall back an hour.

One reason I love doing transatlantic cruises which start in Europe to the USA is that 6-7 times during the crossing (depending on starting port) you gain an hour's sleep!

Last week on the Pride Baltimore to Bermuda they had us change forward and then back. Actually made it easier.

We have always stayed on the time from the port where he ship left from.

We have been on several cruises where the time changes. They always announce it. I understood it was up to each individual Captain if they do it or not.

The Mexican Riviera cruise I did last year changed times. 1 hr back and then an hr ahead the next night.

Yes, Princess also use port time.

I was in Grand Cayman and ship time was 11:30am. Went to lunch on shore and ordered a beer. The waitress gave me the most awful look as it was 10:30am GC time. Geesh!

Depends on the itin.

 

On the West Coast many stay cruises within the same time zone. Alaska, Mexican Riviera can change by an hour. Going to Hawaii time changes an hour at a time three nights going and coming back.
