Catpow Posted September 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2016 For years I've been reading posts about the deluge of Regent mail and the conflicting information contained within. Until recently Regent did not have an office in Australia and apart from the odd email, they pretty well left us alone. Since about March we have started to receive a brochure about every 2-3 weeks. Today we received two Regent brochures in the mail, both dated August 2016. OK, I have no idea whether they are printed elsewhere or locally but the disparity in pricing between brochures is startling. For example the December 1 2016 'Atlantic Crossing' 35 night cruise (+ 3 night pre cruise safari) on the Navigator is listed as 'from' (Cat H) $11,571 in one brochure and $17,180 in the other. Penthouses from $16,212 in one and $24,060 in the other. Yep, for the same cruise. OK, one does mention that the lower fares are for a limited time only, but really - they are both dated the same and arrived on the same date. Prices are in Australian $$$ and do not include airfares BTW. Now I understand why fellow posters get flummoxed with Regent mail...
Travelcat2 Posted September 16, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2016 It is good to hear that Regent finally has an office in Australia! The battle of the brochures sounds frustrating. I would suggest giving your local Regent office a call. IMO it is important for Regent to know that they are sending out conflicting brochures. Accuracy is important and they need to achieve it if they want to be successful in Australia.

There seems to be a lot of talk as to whether the pricing is different from the US, UK and beyond as there are many "offers" for the same cruise. I can understand as we booked out first 2 Regent cruises from Regent (Southampton) but found some helpful advice on here and our next 2 were from a TA in the UK and has worked well for us so far. It might be worth looking at TA's in Australia that specialise in Regent and try giving them a call. We were on the Voyager last year and met 3 couples from Australia, have to say we had a blast with all 3 of them and they had such a great sense of humour. Hope you get past the jargin and find a cruise that suits you. Pam.
wripro Posted September 16, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2016 Personally, I never pay any attention to prices in brochures. They are printed in advance and the way things are going now in the cruise market with so many areas affected by different situations causing less than full ships prices are being changed often and sometimes drastically. It's best to go online or even better, have your TA get you the correct fares.

tallship Posted September 21, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 21, 2016 We received offers for several sailings this week for under $300pp USD per night
Suite Travels Posted September 21, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 21, 2016 We received offers for several sailings this week for under $300pp USD per night I would grab that price for sure. Carnival charges as much for a not inclusive suite and just for the suite not inclusive. Luxury lines usually go for much more.
Johnthesailor Posted September 22, 2016 #8 Share Posted September 22, 2016 Tallship, I have not seen offers this low - would you mind listing the voyage/date so I can check them on the website. Sounds like a great bargain. Thanks, John
Travelcat2 Posted September 22, 2016 #9 Share Posted September 22, 2016 We received offers for several sailings this week for under $300pp USD per night You definitely find good deals. Are any of them on the Explorer? I'm asking because the lower category suites ("G" and "H") seem to not be selling well. Our upcoming cruise(s) are pretty much sold out, however there is availability in the "G" category. IMO, the lesson for Regent to learn is that luxury cruisers do not want small suites/cabins. While the "G" category is the same size as the Mariner's suites (categories lower than PH), the bathroom and closet on the Explorer are simply too small. Do hope that you take advantage of a sailing that we are on - we'd love to see you again!

Eager2Travel Posted September 22, 2016 #13 Share Posted September 22, 2016 Thanks for posting the info, Tallship. Those prices do not appear to be available in the US, at least not where I can find them. Ann
liptastic Posted September 22, 2016 #14 Share Posted September 22, 2016 I was sent an email today from the cruise critic UK site with the cruises listed on sale. It looks like the itineries mentioned above. Jean.
Johnthesailor Posted September 22, 2016 #15 Share Posted September 22, 2016 I looked on the website and there seems to be higher pricing in the US. I'm surprised given that domestic air in the US is probably less than from the U.K. But as I've said in the past, discounting is most successful when it is not apparent to the majority of folks who have already booked - I'm surmising that earlier bookings are mostly US. If you are eligible, take a good look at these bargains. A voyage on Regent for $300/day! Take advantage of that.
Eager2Travel Posted September 22, 2016 #16 Share Posted September 22, 2016 I wish I could take advantage of it but I live in the US. I can not understand why they would reduce it for one country but not another. But I know this is nothing new. It is frustrating all the same. auntieshoes Posted September 26, 2016 #17 Share Posted September 26, 2016 The May 13, 10 night trip on the Navigator is showing up as $4299 for me today. That $2999 is a great rate although the destinations don't do a lot for me. It's a great way for someone to get their feet wet and try Regent. mrlevin Posted October 12, 2016 #18 Share Posted October 12, 2016 Voyager Barcelona to Dubai leaving 9 November went from availability in almost all categories to waitlist overnight. Either they had sold a lot of guaranteed cabins or they dumped inventory overseas. Anyone (especially our Brit or Aussie friends) see this cruise heavily discounted? Kitekat Posted October 13, 2016 #19 Share Posted October 13, 2016 Yes, we received a CC email in early August about Regent offers and the Barcelona - Dubai cruise in particular caught our eye. All of the bottom three grades of cabin/suites were already wait listed with prices at around 50%, the remaining grades were more like 55%. Here is the link: https://www.rssc.com/cruises/VOY161109/summary/default.aspx?s=EM_GMA_NA_PRO_CRC_SPO_EML_NA_NA_NA_UK_DESTMULTI&et_cid=2760055&et_rid=40624088&et_referrer=TripAdvisor As a result, we booked our first Regent cruise and are very much looking forward to going next month.
