goinsoon Posted September 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2016 Just booked this cabin. Sitting on the balcony how are the views? We are afraid that we will be able to see nothing but the solid balcony "wall". Thanks all!!
goofy559 Posted September 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 23, 2016 You will not see the water when sitting but I would suggest that the size of the balcony more than makes up it!
Sayra Posted September 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2016 In addition, in our experience, it was too windy the majority of the time at sea to sit on the balcony anyways.* ** *But maybe it was just the weather we had in the Caribbean that week **We would book the cabin again in a minute. msw.delafield Posted September 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 23, 2016 We were fortunate to occupy a similar cabin on Lido deck - L108. I've attached an image that I hope helps to put the solid metal balcony rail in perspective for you relative to the seating. This was the first 'non-glass' balcony cabin for us, and I never felt it detracted from enjoying any views at all. You actually find yourself standing at the rails walking around the substantial length of the balcony most of the time. These four balconies (Lido/Marina 107/108) are ridiculously large - moreso the Marina deck balcony as it has a huge open expanse jutting out over the bridge below. You could easily host a gathering for 30+ and not feel crowded at all. Additionally, the slanted metal facing on these balconies helped to deflect the wind up/over. This helps you to comfortably enjoy the balcony sailing into/out of ports and (depending on prevailing wind) while underway at sea. We have booked several future sailings in forward facing balcony cabins on Royal as a result of enjoying this experience so much.
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted September 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 24, 2016 Sitting, you won't really have a view, but standing, your view will be the same as the captain's!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
