satxdiver Posted October 7, 2016 #51 Share Posted October 7, 2016 Nice to hear that they did show the debates in a public venue on several ships (maybe all?). Also glad that the pax watching behaved themselves during the debate and acted like sane adults.
Griller Posted October 7, 2016 #52 Share Posted October 7, 2016 It would be a horrible idea to show the debate on MUTS. You know exactly what would happen. There would be yelling and cheering and booing and maybe even popcorn flying. And passengers on one side of the election would be looking at passengers on the other side of the election with disdain and anger. And these are people who are more or less confined to living in harmony with one another in a closed environment for the next week or so. Some even sitting at the same dining room table. It is in Princess' best interest to foster an environment that encourages civility and friendship, and having passengers publicly exposing their political preferences (especially in this election) would run directly counter to that objective. For the good of all on board, I pray that they make the debates available on stateroom TVs, but not in public forums. Many passengers are not American and are totally uninterested. And the Princess ships are not American either.

Griller Posted October 7, 2016 #54 Share Posted October 7, 2016 But I suppose they love American football right? Don't love it, don't want to love it, don't understand it and don't know why its called football when they handle the ball so much and kick it so little
caribill Posted October 8, 2016 #55 Share Posted October 8, 2016 Many passengers are not American and are totally uninterested. And the Princess ships are not American either. Yet British TV shows the debates live so there must be some interest in the UK in the middle of the night.
