johnlisa6 Posted October 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2016 Leaving Oct 15th on the Escape and it is our first time on NCL. On other ships they have a "formal" night. Is this the same on NCL?? Thanks for the help!
Cubechick Posted October 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2016 No formal night exactly. A dress up night though.
LrgPizza Posted October 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2016 There is no dress up night or formal night on Escape. You will see very few people dressed up, and an equal amount on any night. Shorts are welcome in all restaurants/dining rooms with the exception of Bayamo and Le Bistro. There is one night called Norwegian's Night Out when some people like to dress fancy. You'll hardly notice though.
catemo_x Posted October 8, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 8, 2016 We have never cruised NCL either but will be sailing on Escape in May of 2017. From the research I've done so far, it seems like their "freestyle" concept applies to dress as well. You can be as formal or as casual as you'd like...within reason. (i.e. shirt/pants/shoes or sandals required) We are really looking forward to the flexibility that NCL offers! Have a wonderful cruise!
Socalev Posted October 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2016 Day 2 is "Dress Up or Not Night". Pictures in the atrium as well.
The Merrill Posted October 8, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 8, 2016 We loved the free style concept of NCL. We did notice some people make the choice to dress up for dinner but it's totally up to them. I found that most wore casual clothes to dinner and some did wear shorts to the speciality restaurants. Enjoy!!
kathy884 Posted October 8, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 8, 2016 (edited) Are jeans with collared shirt and nice shoes OK in Le Bristro? That is one of three specialty restaurants we made reservations for. I wasn't planning on bringing any dress up clothes, but need to check in case jeans aren't OK here. I never bring long pants other than jeans( they do need to be in good shape), and gym shoes for Le Bistro. We're platinum, so we get 2 free dinners that we use there each cruise. We ate inside due to the smoke smell filtering down from the casino to the outdoor seating area.
