May1cruiser Posted October 9, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2016 Can anyone compare the difference between the premier and ultra premier casino offer? We have our first premier cruise in Jan 17', so I would like to know if it is truly worth the effort/$$$ to play towards 7500 points to qualify for an ultra premier? Thank you. springs741 Posted October 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2016 Sailing my first Ultra in November. I have done many premiers. You know the old adage. Never chase the comps. As you likely know the rules have changed. You now must get 7500 points on one premier to qualify for an invite to an Ultra. Now if I was at 7000 points I would surely go ahead and try to make the extra 500 points to qualify. But I don't think I would make the effort to earn the points. LaCal Posted May 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2017 (edited) Ultras are basically like the premier except you get a much better gift. Like a iPhone, IPad, big screen tv, and more Edited May 7, 2017 by LaCal

Thank you. I did one ultra cruise (before the 7,500 point requirement). The difference is the prizes are better. Instead of a few drawings where a handful of people win, in the ultra they had a wheel that each ultra guest got to spin, so each ultra guest got a prize. Examples of prizes were Fun Shops dollars to spend on the ship, iPads, and cash. Other than that, the ultra cruise is similar to the premier cruises. IMO, the ultra is not worth it with the new 7,500 point requirement. For what you have to spend gambling to qualify for the ultra, you could buy things equivalent to the gifts offered. noslen3333 Posted May 7, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 7, 2017 Just got off the Freedom, April 15th, and I have never struggled like I did to reach 7500 points. I believe the casino may have changed the point system. Just my opinion. I will be going again in September and see if it is different. I do play a lot of video poker but I always have and always get over 10,000 points on a 7 day cruise. Not this time, just over 8300.
creamofthecrop78 Posted February 7, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2018 Cash is king. I like the premier cruise the best. To me it’s better than the ultra and Elite because I didn’t receive cash. I don’t give a crap about the prizes. I like my $1000 they give me on the premier

Port of Tampa Posted September 14, 2018 #9 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Ultra...been on two first gift was $500 funshop credit and last was the dreaded money wheel, got $400 in free play. The Ultra's were way too crowded for me, had to wait for hours for certain table games and video poker and yes felt like small fish with $1K daily bankroll. My offers have gone from great to not worth the hassle. Doing a dealers choice in November and a Premier in January. If no good offers from those will stay with our great MGM land based offers and pass on the sea casinos. Cheers and happy.
