Cruising Past Pitons?

Will be going to St.Lucia, and would like to do the ships coastal cruise to

the Pitons, but also would have liked to spend the day at Reduit beach

which we heard so many nice things about. Have heard that when the

ship leaves St.Lucia it passes by the Pitons, is this so and how close are

you to enjoy the view? Thanks for any help. Will be going on the

Constellation April 2007....I know it's far off, so have lots of time to plan.

We've sailed the Southern Caribbean on Celebrity 3 times & the only way we saw the Pitons was to take the excursion there. We could not see them while arriving or during sailaway.

ditto what the previous poster stated. We were on Summit and she did not sail past the Pitons. We took a tour there -- great time!
