RHilla619 Posted October 12, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2016 Good question, and a tricky one too because normally while in port the stores and Casino is closed. So not sure how it works on an overnight in Nassau, I would call Carnival.
Boozebabe Posted October 12, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2016 Theres always Atlantis Casino on Paradise Island.
PittsburghGirlee Posted October 12, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 12, 2016 In December, the casino opened up a few hours earlier when at Nassau. We were still docked when the casino opened, so it IS a possibility. Sent from my iPad using Forums
cb at sea Posted October 12, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 12, 2016 While docked, do NOT expect the casino to be opened. Or, shops.

Carnivaljoefl Posted October 13, 2016 Author #12 Share Posted October 13, 2016 Thanks all for the info seems like they would lose money by keeping things closed Sent from my SM-G930P using Forums mobile app
elainmir Posted October 13, 2016 #13 Share Posted October 13, 2016 Crap I hope they don't do that to us on our Nov. 10 cruise...I don't want an overnight! No casino=early bedtime...I mean seriously don't they warn us not to be out at night there?
Micahs Grandad Posted October 13, 2016 #14 Share Posted October 13, 2016 Apparently Nassau has excess capacity so they can overnight there. Kind of surprised the ship doesnt go back out to sea so they can open up the casino.
hlb76 Posted October 14, 2016 #15 Share Posted October 14, 2016 We are in the same boat... pardon the pun. We are very bummed to have an overnight. I'd prefer just another sea day. No casino at night is a big bummer for us. I can't just go to Paradise Island as we have kids and they can't join. Nor would I leave them on the ship w.o. me. tarabonnie Posted October 14, 2016 #17 Share Posted October 14, 2016 We just got off the Elation and they opened the shops and the casino in the evening, even though we stayed overnight. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
swodog94 Posted October 14, 2016 #18 Share Posted October 14, 2016 Did an overnight in Bermuda once. Ship had a big party by the pools that night. Everyone was still buzzing about it the next morning. Probably Carnival will do the same. Of course, the last time I was in Nassau pretty late we were partying in Senor Frogs until well past midnight!
cruznjan Posted October 19, 2016 #19 Share Posted October 19, 2016 I'm thinking it depends on what arrangements they make with the port authority in Nassau.
DallasGuy75219 Posted October 19, 2016 #20 Share Posted October 19, 2016 It's possible they can only open the casino in port on ships registered/flagged in the Bahamas. No way Carnival wouldn't open the casino in port, at least at night when most people are back onboard, if they could do so legally.
Cruise-Crazy Posted October 19, 2016 #21 Share Posted October 19, 2016 The shops will open after the shops in Nassau close. Casino will be open at night
