ChrisPBacon Posted October 13, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2016 My cruise in Feb says 14 weeks, which if taken literally, is 98 days before your flight. But I'd keep an eye on your cruise personaliser as you approach that date. Could be released early or later. kruzseeka Posted October 13, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2016 Yes 98 days for us too - our January flight also said 14 weeks and opened exactly on that date at 00.00. Sad I know that I'm aware of the exact time! :o
ChrisPBacon Posted October 13, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 13, 2016 But that's good to know. My wife is a very nervous flyer and we try and get an aisle and middle seat, but on the 3-4-3 aircraft, they won't let you book them. But ours is a 2-4-2, so we should have no problem. But I do try and get in on that first day. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
jasperado Posted October 13, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 13, 2016 As a current example.......we fly out on 21st January and we can book seats this coming saturday 15th October. Go to P and O's FAQs.....ask "Can I pre-purchase specific seats on my flights?" scroll down...until you come to the dates of your Carribean cruise. It will also give you the prices of your choices. March seems a long way away but I enjoy all the planning.
jasperado Posted October 21, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 21, 2016 Thank you for all your helpful suggestions. I have never done a fly/cruise before so I am really pleased to be able to find out what I need to do. March seems a long way away but I enjoy all the planning. The planning is nearly as good as the actual holiday. When P and O publish the trips that are available for your cruise, research and see if you can do the same for a lot cheaper. For example, for Grenada P and O are offering a beach transfer by bus/coach to Grand Anse beach for 3 hours for £21 each........ We are going on a Sunday so the local bus is not a viable option but we will take the water taxi for approx $5 each return. If we were going on a weekday we could take the bus for $1 each, each way!! I love planning :D
ChrisPBacon Posted October 21, 2016 #9 Share Posted October 21, 2016 Only do ships tours when there's no local option. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
davecttr Posted October 21, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 21, 2016 (edited) Only do ships tours when there's no local option. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk I disagree, use P&O excursions for peace of mind, especially if you are an inexperienced cruiser. Remember, if you are on a P&O excursion which is running late the ship will wait for you. If you organise your own it won't  Edited October 21, 2016 by davecttr
ChrisPBacon Posted October 22, 2016 #11 Share Posted October 22, 2016 I've paid $10 for a bus to a beach, when the ship want £40 each. For me, it's always making my own way unless it's a full day trip and a big journey. But a 20 minute ride town beach or town? Nah. ChrisPBacon Posted October 23, 2016 #14 Share Posted October 23, 2016 Yes. Total rip off because P&O charge this money.....not Thomson or Thomas Cook. But that's the way it is these days. Just waiting for our flights to open to book ours for the 4th Feb. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
njc519 Posted October 23, 2016 #15 Share Posted October 23, 2016 I think we may not bother then - what's the worst that can happen?! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
ChrisPBacon Posted October 23, 2016 #16 Share Posted October 23, 2016 I know what you mean, but my wife is a very nervous flyer. We'd probably end up sat next to each other anyway, but I can't take the chance. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
