MitchFrank Posted October 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2016 We have reservations for Celebrity Select dining at 7:30/7:45 each night on the December 4 sailing on Celebrity Silhouette. Does anyone know if we're going to miss the shows if we have dinner at that time? Would we be better off show-wise if we did second seating dining at 8:30? CruiserBruce Posted October 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2016 The far better place for your research would be the Celebrity board, here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
Rare Hlitner Posted October 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2016 Your post begs the question, why have Select Dining if you are going to make reservations for the same time every night? Sounds an awful lot like you are putting yourselves into a Fixed Dining scenario except with Select you will have to wait in a line each night (even with a reservation) since you have chose a real prime time. That being said, we always use Select Dining on our cruises. But we simply show up for dinner when its convenient...which can vary from night to night. If we happen to be having a great time at the Martini Bar....we might delay dinner for a half hour (or more) to enjoy the fun. If there is show at 10, and we want to go there early we might eat at 7:30 (we normally prefer 8 or later) so that we can still have a long slow dinner without worrying about getting to the show. In Europe, if we are in a port late and get back to the ship at 6....we might not make it to dinner until 8:30 (time to shower, change, have cocktails, etc). That is the beauty of Select.
