Changing cabins on a back to back cruise

Recommended Posts

Couple of questions.

Firstly, what time would we have to be out of our cabin at the end of the first cruise?

Do we move our clothes etc. ourselves or can we get assistance.

Considering that all cabins have to be cleaned on the change over date what do we do with our baggage etc. inbetween moving cabins.

Our first B2B is in January and we're changing cabins. Previous reports here have said they will move your bags and what's on hangers. So everything has to be on a hanger or in luggage. I think they are supposed to set a location/time where the B2B people meet. I guess that would be the time you need to be out of your cabin:)

If I have to change cabins, I usually find the cabin steward for my new cabin and ask if he/she can prep the cabin as soon as possible. I also drop by my new cabin around 9 on turn around day and if the cabin is empty, ask if I can put my valuables in the safe, if I can't I carry them around with me. Put everything else in your luggage, lock it, leave items in the closet on hangers. Your current stateroom attendant will trolley it all over to your new cabin. If the cabins are close, I have on occasion asked for a trolley and moved myself.

Oftentimes, the consecutive cruiser meeting is around 10am. It is there you will get an envelope with your new seapass and also will be escorted as a group through customs and back on the ship. There is usually a brunch for the group in one of the restaurants.

We had an unexpected cabin change on one B2B- where we got an upgrade. (found out while getting back on, and they were asking for us....)

Once back on board- we went back to our old cabin, organized stuff, and moved to the new cabin- while they were cleaning up.

Other than explaining to our new cabin steward that we got an unexpected change- as they didn't expect us, it wasn't a big deal. Gave us work to do between getting back on and when everyone else started boarding.

Now that's my kind of "work"!:D:)

On a b2b, pack up your clothes that are in the drawers except what you will wear and leave what is hanging in the closet. Your room steward will move everything to your new room. During the week, I went to Guest Relations to confirm they had us down for a b2b and let our room steward know which he already knew. Near the end of your first cruise, they will have a meeting to explain the procedure of getting your new card etc.

Our b2b was following the Transpacific so we were able to go to GR between 6 & 9 get our new Sea Pass Cards then disembark. If after 9, then everyone met in the dining room. We didn't have a lunch.

You need to coordinate with your room steward. He/she will coordinate with your new steward. Each ship does the meeting, escort off the ship, new Seapass a little differently, but you will have a meeting or be notified.

You leave all your hanging clothes and stewards will move to the new cabin. You have to pack the rest of your stuff and they will move those suitcases. Empty your safe and keep a small bag with you with valuables, meds, etc. with you.

It's very simple.
