amyhoss Posted November 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2016 (edited) With just over 2 weeks until my cruise, I'd like to start packing. Does anyone have a nice cruise packing list that you can share? Edited November 2, 2016 by amyhoss

maldenmusic Posted November 2, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2016 I keep one on my phone but it's kind of long. Only pack half the clothes you think you'll need.

A&Jfamily Posted November 2, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 2, 2016 For adults chose a base color like black so that you can take minimal shoes. I'm a girl - so here is my list for a 7 day cruise: 2 dresses for elegant evening 1 pair dress sandals 1 black skirt or pants for casual evening 4-5 casual evening tops (or exchange any and all tops for a dress if you like that better) 1 pair casual sandals 3 pair cotton shorts 8 t-shirts (one for each day on board plus one to wear home) 1 gym shirt and shorts 1 pair flip flops 2 bathing suits 1 cover up 1-2 yoga pant and hoodie (I get cool in afternoons) 1 black sweater (evenings if you get cool) underclothes 2-3 ankle socks 2-3 nightgowns All of the above fits in a carry-on suitcase. I wear on another yoga set and tennis shoes. I also carry a back pack (if you want to do the pool upon arrival, throw 1 swimsuit and cover-up in here). This is where I put my camera, boarding paper work, lanyards, jewelry, medication, toiletries, book/ipad, chargers etc. Basically all the misc stuff that is either valuable or necessary for boarding. If we have a snorkel excursion, DH carries the snorkel bag, and I may also throw in water shoes, depending on the nature of the planned day trips. I don't mess with any of the door organizers, pop up hamper (put suitcase under bed and throw everything in there) etc. that so many people talk about here. I keep it very simple and I always have something clean to wear and have never had to do laundry. It makes unpacking easy and re-packing (which is awful because I don't want to leave) a minimal time commitment. Kids are just as simple: 2 elegant outfits 4-5 casual evening outfits 7-8 day outfits dress shoes, casual shoes, flip flops and tennis shoes. They also get a backpack, but get to put in "their" stuff: a lovie (my kids took a tiny favorite animal to sleep with and got build a bear the first time that it was offered and lugged that bear everywhere), small toys (cars, mini dolls etc), tablet, coloring supplies, headphones, small games etc - if they could fit it on their back and carry it, they could take it. Simple really is best....
okeytaco Posted November 2, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 2, 2016 (edited) This is my list of the things that always go with us. Clothing is different every time so I'm not including specific clothes, shoes, sleepwear or underwear. Like everyone always says - take half what you think you'll wear. Battery operated fan Scented plug-in (so nice to come back to cabin and it smells lovely) Battery candle for night light in bathroom Medications Books/Kindle Deck of Cards Cruise Documents Passports Lanyards Grocery store card with magnetic strip for safe Phones/chargers Lighted makeup mirror/make up Binoculars Toiletries Jewelry Sunscreen Swim suits Beach shoes Beach bag Lightweight beach towels (Carnival's are way too heavy to transport) Insect repellant if excursion is to jungle-type area Yedi for coffee on balcony Edited November 2, 2016 by okeytaco
SadieN Posted November 2, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Lists are guidelines and are very personal. What works for one won't work for another. Many things on these lists we've never used or only used one time. That being said, our cruise list continues to evolve even after almost 40 cruises. Take along a small first aid kit. Athankfulheart Posted November 2, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Small bag with basic first aid and a sampling of OTC medications that you might need ( tylenol, imodium, sudafed, benadryl etc) . If you have a child with you, then include meds they might need as well. I also keep peppermint tea bags in my med kit for icky bellies.
