FrankandLolas2ndhoneymoon Posted November 6, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2016 This may be a silly question and it just sort of came to me the other day. I was considering packing my Tervis cup for my cruise (those water and lemonade glasses are so tiny) in a couple of weeks and was wondering if there is any sort of rule against it or if it was just maybe frowned upon? Thanks in advance for any input!
Life_Traveler Posted November 6, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2016 I always take my big mug as theirs are way too small. Never had any issues and you will see a lot of people do it.

Thanks in advance for any input! No rules against bringing your own tumbler or coffee mug. We bring our own, and as Life_Traveler mentioned, lots of others do too. By the way, I use a little bit of the liquid shower soap to wash out our tumblers. Works just as well as dish soap. ;)
sunshine002 Posted November 6, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 6, 2016 On my cruise I took a insulated cup I picked up at Dollar tree. It was easier and just as good to not take my Ozark Trail mug. Then at the end of the cruise no biggie if I didn't take it home. Oh so many trades offs to have a nice mug,or travel light.
mishka422 Posted November 6, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 6, 2016 I always take my Bubba tumbler. Keeps my drink nice and cold and holds 32 Oz. Love it! Those cups on lido are tiny! Sent from my SM-G925V using Forums mobile app
CruiserBren Posted November 6, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 6, 2016 You can bring your own. Just like any buffet, use a clean lido cup to fill your cup. It helps prevent norovirus!
MarcelLucSell Posted November 6, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 6, 2016 We bring insulated tumbler with screwtop and straw. Keeps things icy cold.
Port of Tampa Posted November 6, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 6, 2016 We received some nice players club insulated coffee tumblers and always bring them for the morning coffee and sometimes for party drinks. Cheers and happy cruising.
FrankandLolas2ndhoneymoon Posted November 6, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted November 6, 2016 Thank you all so much!! I was trying to think back and remember if I saw anyone else taking their own cups and for the life of me, nothing, no memories! I'll throw two in the suitcase and we will be set! tonit964 Posted November 6, 2016 #11 Share Posted November 6, 2016 We always take our Tervis cups, it's allowed. Enjoy your cruise!:)
13cheermom Posted November 6, 2016 #12 Share Posted November 6, 2016 Like others have said it's fine to take any other cup or mug onboard. Just make sure you fill it with their cups to keep from contaminating the dispenser area. We like to take our Yeti mugs to keep everything nice and cold, especially those frozen drinks in the hot sun. :)
terri-eddie Posted November 6, 2016 #13 Share Posted November 6, 2016 I took my Tervis cup on one cruise, and after the first day I left it in the cabin. It was just annoying to have to carry it all the time, even empty, instead of just setting it down on a table somewhere when I was done with it. I guess I don't drink enough to make it worthwhile for me.
elainmir Posted November 6, 2016 #14 Share Posted November 6, 2016 That first cup of coffee for both me and DH needs to be the 24oz. Tervis. I don't wanna be hiking back and forth to the Lido half asleep for those tiny cups of coffee! ;) We don't carry them around really though...mostly that first huge cup in the morning ... Seems like it would be close to ten. Wish there was an easier way, but I know, Novo Virus.

But you don't have to really fill it all the way, main purpose is just to keep hot drinks hot longer and cold drinks cold longer. I'm a slow coffee drinker and I like it to stay hot until I'm finished, lol. We use them on the beach all summer long to keep ice cold beverages. Just love the way a Yeti can go back and forth for either beverage. :D

It doesn't take any longer to fill a small cup 10 times than it takes to fill a 10 cup container once does it? (transfer time from the small container to the large is negligible.) crusinpsychRN Posted November 6, 2016 #19 Share Posted November 6, 2016 Just use their cup to fill your cup due to hygiene.

TrqoisWtrs Posted November 10, 2016 #21 Share Posted November 10, 2016 The Red Frog and Blue Iguana bars usually sell their version of a Tervis cup too, in case you forget yours. :)
