campolady Posted November 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2016 (edited) Anyone sailing into Malaga between 24th November and 6th January should not miss a walk through the cities famous Christmas lights reputedly one of the best displays in Europe. There is also a Christmas market (crafts and decorations) at the main road through the park opposite the Port entrance. A big Spanish Christmas tradition is to have a 'Belen' (nativity scene) - the best is usually in the Town Hall and you are welcome to visit it; most Churches also have Belens for you to view. Eleteace Posted November 12, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2016 I went to Malaga on a Christmas cruise, by far one of the nicest ports I have visited. Was lovely! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare cruisemom42 Posted November 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2016 We saw the lights being put up when we were in Malaga about two weeks ago. Looks like a fantastic display. BTW, I really enjoyed spending some time in Malaga and preferred it to Seville (where I spent some time pre-cruise). Just a charming place...! We are fine here (east of Malaga) thanks Chaosdreamer - but the city was very badly hit and, sadly, 2 people have lost their in the west of the Province. campolady Posted December 17, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted December 17, 2016 (edited) Is there any special Christmas season entertainment to partake in Malaga? Biggest event of the Festive Season in Malaga is the 3 Kings parade on 5th January. New Years Eve is also a big celebration. Christmas Eve is the main meal of the holidays.
