Change in Alcohol Delivery Policy

Just off the Magic yesterday. To my surprise, the debarkation letter said alcohol purchased on the ship or in ports would be delivered to the cabin on the last night, just like the old days. Don't know if the change is fleetwide but I hope so.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this. Sometimes I get it delivered the last night and other times I have to pick it up. However, I'm always told I'll have to pick it up.

Hope it's fleetwide. Haven't bought any since they initiated the last morning policy.

There was a thread about this recently where Heald announced the change for 7 day cruises. It was my understanding that this would be rolled out fleet wide.

The Fun Shops (onboard)

All alcohol purchased in The Fun Shops onboard will be stored for safekeeping until the end of the voyage. The retained items will be available for collection in a designated lounge on the morning of debarkation for cruise durations 5 days and less; for cruise durations 6 days and more, alcohol will be delivered to guest staterooms after 7:00pm, the evening prior to debarkation (some exceptions may apply).

What are the exceptions do you know?

My guess the exception...back to back cruisers, won't get their liquor.

There could be other exceptions

glad to hear this, had stopped buying after waiting well over an hour one morning - who needs more stress on departure days!

 

they must really see a huge difference in the partying between 5 days or shorter cruises!

I agree. Though these exceptions often result to confusion in the enforcement of the policy. So When flying out from a foreign airport, i just buy liquor at the airport duty free store.

Are there any other reports where Carnival has gone back to the delivery on the last night and not the morning when you get off.
