Slot punch key card

Heading on the Escape in Dec, and I'm wondering if they can slot punch the id card to attach a lanyard? I called the NCL line and they said no, but I've seen reports that it's possible.

Has anyone been on the Escape recently and had their room key punched?

I bring my own hole puncher. Take care of all our cards while waiting to get on the ship. I don't want to stand in line while I'm on vacation. :D

Same here. Actually, on our first Breakaway cruise I organized the meet and greet, so as a small token I had purchased 100 lanyards and brought a hole puncher. I must have given out 30-40 lanyards in the cruise terminal and punched holes in around 75 cards. By the time we were at the meet and greet the next day, I was out of lanyards and I had broken the hole puncher.
