This will be my 7th time on the Royal Princess. Booked a guaranteed balcony (BF unobstructed) on the second half of a b2b Dec 10. This cabin states "PART OBSTRUCTED VIEWGLASS BALCONY RAIL". Princess says its not obstructed. Does anyone have experience w this cabin?

There is no real obstruction. If you were to look forward, you would see the bridge. The balcony is glass. Ive stayed on the other side one down - great location!

I don’t have a definitive answer for you, but from looking at pictures of the Royal I have a guess about the “Part Obstructed” view.

To me it looks like the one cabin next to yours, and forward, has an obstructed view. Yours looks like it has an unobstructed view looking straight out and to the aft. I am guessing that the obstruction for your neighboring cabin will impact your view when trying to look somewhat forward. Again this is just an educated guess by looking at pictures of the Royal.

When the ship was originally designed, there was a white metal plate that would have been on the balcony instead of the glass.

But as actually built, it is glass.

Originally this cabin was sold at a lower price because of the non-existent metal plate.

Now it is sold at the price of the unobstructed view cabin it actually is.

I've stayed in an obstructed balcony that had the hull instead of glass under the balcony rail. Still plenty to see above the rail, and a much larger balcony than the norm.
