Hors d' oeuvres for the most part... I did see some breads and dessert type items in the casino...

 

They had a impressive selection in the K-Dam casino. Heaven forbid a gambler would have to leave the casino for a snack and HAL lose some serious $$. :D

I am sailing on the .koningsdam Non 29-Dec10,2017 on the same itinerary as you.

I am new to HAL and sailingeith a DF( that's dear friend for those of you with slightly off-centre brains).

After so many negative comments about this your review was refreshing. Sorry- I think I just posted part of this.😱

I won't care-I'm on a ship with a friend who makes me laugh so what's not to like?

We were permitted access to the round deck on the bow for the "scenic cruising" past the Pitons in St. Lucia. The deck was only accessible via water tight doors at the end of the halls on deck 5 forward. There is a step over - think pics of submarine doors you see in movies - that could be a bit of a problem for guests with mobility issues.

 

 

Interesting that there was some access to this forward facing deck space. I was wondering what purpose it served. It looks like such a wonderful viewing area that I would think people would like to gain access to for more scenic cruising.

I'm surprised there are so many negative comments. Like you say---you're on a ship with dear ones and you don't have to do anything you don't want to! I'm sure you'll have a great time!

I read all the thread today at one go - I really enjoyed it and could not stop. Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us - I loved it all and most of all I liked your sense of humour! Thank you also for the photos and the Daily Navigator, I still have to read those. Anyway - Great Job Indeed!

 

Will you kindly permit me to ask some questions, please?

 

- Is there a way of booking the Behind The Scenes Tour? I appreciate your advice, unless it is limited to Vista suites.

- Is the sports court open for free use by passengers? There is really no mention of it in any of the threads.

- Do you know if milk shakes from the Gelato, are free with the non alcoholic beverage card?

- Are the speciality restaurants open for lunch? Is it possible to book online for lunches or just for dinners?
