karinad Posted November 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2016 I have a hold on a transatlantic cruise for Oct. It's still showing a $900. deposit for the 2 of us. What's the deal with the $25. deposit?
Rare Jim_Iain Posted November 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2016 (edited) I have a hold on a transatlantic cruise for Oct. It's still showing a $900. deposit for the 2 of us. What's the deal with the $25. deposit? Not unusual for Celebrity Website. Make sure you read the fine print $25 Reduced Deposit: Offer excludes group bookings, suites, Celebrity Explorations, Alaska Cruisetours and Galapagos sailings. Reduced deposit must be paid by deposit payment required due date. Offer is applicable to residents of U.S. and Canada only. To redeem at celebritycruises.com, proceed to the payment page, select "Other" in the deposit field and enter the deposit amount. Standard full deposit penalty is applied if booking is cancelled within final payment period; see Celebrity's cancellation policy for details. 95% of the time it doesn't work. If it doesn't work either call in tomorrow and Captain's Club do the $25 deposit or pay the full deposit and call in later to have the 850 refunded. After all it's Celebrity website - Why would you think it would work. LOL Edited November 26, 2016 by Jim_Iain
Rare Cruise Junky Posted November 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 26, 2016 You could try typing in "other" Black Friday Offer components: $25 Deposits, 50% off savings of third and fourth occupancy guests, Season of Savings, and one Go Big amenity. Cruise must be booked Nov. 25– 27, 2016 (the "Offer Period"). Offer applies to select 7-night and longer cruises departing Mar. 1, 2017 – Apr. 30, 2018. Offer excludes Galapagos, Celebrity Explorations, repositioning, transatlantic, and transpacific cruises. $25 Reduced Deposit: Offer excludes group bookings, suites, Celebrity Explorations, Alaska Cruisetours and Galapagos sailings. Reduced deposit must be paid by deposit payment required due date. Offer is applicable to residents of U.S. and Canada only. To redeem at celebritycruises.com, proceed to the payment page, select "Other" in the deposit field and enter the deposit amount. Standard full deposit penalty is applied if booking is cancelled within final payment period; see Celebrity's cancellation policy for details. vtcruising Posted November 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 26, 2016 I booked a cruise today with the $25 deposit. Using "other" and typing in $50 did not work on the website (big surprise). I called Celebrity and it is all set. I would have had to call anyway since there was also no way to change the free perk to the beverage package from the default of $300 OBC. karinad Posted November 26, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted November 26, 2016 Thank you! I never booked direct with Celebrity, so, I thought I was missing something. I will have to call them.
DonRobertoSanJuan Posted November 27, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 27, 2016 Unlike the $900 deposit, which is per cabin, the $25 deposit is per person so will be $50. You can also put your cruise on a 24 hour hold and call them for the deposit.:)
