Payless Car Rentals at MIA

On Jan. 30 we'll be arriving at POM and have booked Payless for a car rental pickup at MIA. Their price for a one way to Pensacola was 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the competition. They don't have a shuttle to MIA so we think it'll cost ~$30 for a taxi to the MIA location.

 

Any comments on Payless or our plan?

My limited experience with them is that they offer low rates and try to make it up on insurance, fees and other extras.

 

Double check with your personal auto policy - you can likely skip all of the insurance/waivers. Take lots of photos of the car and any pre-existing damages.

 

The cab fare from POM to MIA is $27+tip. Have a good cruise! :)

In my experience Payless is good for not having the car you reserved....then they will rent you what is available....for a LOT more money. (I was so mad!)

 

Bait and switch? You bet.

 

IMO, a better bet is the 'name your own price' feature of Priceline.
