jackparts Posted November 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2016 We, party of 11 have cruise with Carnival before but have used NCL for the last three years. After being on the Damn Dawn 2 out of three years, We are tired of NCL. Even after a re-do in June, a lot of the same problem. Same bathrooms out of service three days in a row, etc. tiresome food, but enough of the past. I figure a lot has changed so I came to the experts spot. OBC , can I purchase ahead of time and only allowed so much $$ per room? We use a lot to buy gifts for customers for our business and friends. Also can we get 11 people at one table in MDR? I am sure there will be more questions but I will start looking over past posts.
dmdiver Posted November 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2016 I've seen large round tables in the past, but not sure if they seat 10 or 12. We never have purchased OBC before - just secured with a credit card. If you don't hear from someone on here who has experience, you may just have to call Carnival direct. I would take traditional dining-- and make sure you got a table for 12. (there are so few tables for 12 and I do not like to me squished into a a table for 10 you might get 2 tables for 6 (which will happen with anytime dining)
serene56 Posted November 30, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2016 , can I purchase ahead of time and only allowed so much $$ per room? /QUOTE] I placed cash down on the first night. BUt its not a guarantee that you cant spend more then whats there-- Like the debit card-- you could go to the bakery and spend 5 for a muffin and go across the hall and into the casino and spend 20. at the slots then visit the casino bar for a drink.. none of which hit the account yet-- its not instant so yes it can go over before you get your notice
Schoifmom Posted November 30, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2016 You can purchase OBC ahead of time. On Carnival you would be purchasing Cruise Cash or Bar Cash. There is a limit of $500 per cabin and you purchase through the Fun Shops on the website. Personally, I prefer to purchase Carnival gift cards. If you were going to use them for gifts, this may be the way to go. You can find them discounted through AARP and Verizon (just search this forum for lots of information on that). IMO, the 10% I save doing that really adds up.

coevan Posted November 30, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 30, 2016 don't let there be money left over, seems pretty easy if you are paying attention. I'm pretty sure you can cash it out at the casino
