Why include Ireland in a British Isles Medly?

Agree - what does it matter - especially when the term is used simply to define what part of Ireland you are referring to? There is no state called "Southern California" but it is an acceptable way of describing where you are from.

Of course, there are those of us who would prefer that there would be a state called North California. But, for now, we'll have to do with just a "state of mind" apart from our southern neighbors.
