Rare crewsweeper Posted December 21, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 21, 2016 (edited) I think most put in near the same spot although there is a private vendor or two that will go further up the river if possible. Never the less it's probably close to a mile to the nearest drop in, you are walking on trails and crossing the river regardless. It's not a difficult walk for most people but you don't want to wear flops. Old tennis shoes/sneakers or cheap water shoes are the best. Edited to say, the roads to the cave tubing can be rough, especially once they turn off the Western Highway and it's a longer ride to get there than you may wish to take. Rare mitsugirly Posted December 22, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 22, 2016 I have been reading through all the reviews and can't seem to figure out which one has the shortest walk through the rain forest. can anyone help? By "which one has the shortest walk" are you talking about which vendor? Or which route? The route is the same to both areas. The only difference is, is that you will come to an area that you cut off down a different path if you want to go the shorter route (which is to the right). If you continue on, then you are going the longer route and will enter the water on up the stream (which is to the left). Here's the cut off area. If you are referring to which vendor will take you the shortest (or longest) route, then they usually leave it up to you (or the group). When they come to the Y in the path, they usually stop (one of MANY stops along the way to observe things, touch things, taste things, get some history of different things such as plants and so on) and they'll ask if you want to go toward the water then or if you want to continue on along the path. If you take the short path, you will only head into 1 of the caves (instead of 3). If you are SURE that you want to only go to the shortest path, you might want to let the guides know ahead of time that is your intention, that way they don't pair you up with a group of people that insist on going all the way.
