cruisinthemed Posted December 27, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 27, 2016 How many points do I need to earn on a 7 day cruise for a free cruise offer??? I have earned several in the past (leaving on New Year's Eve with having received on a 4 day) I don't know how many points I earned. Is there a way to see how many points I earned last cruise??? I have read if I have 5000 from last cruise I will receive Drinks on Us. I am not sure if I had that many, just was a 4 day cruise, but I played a lot of slots ;) Do the point requirements change depending on the length of the cruise??? Thanks
springs741 Posted December 27, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 27, 2016 If you are asking about a "bounce back", They are handed out on the last night based on a curve starting around 2500 points. Yes, some report receiving offers with less. The players who meet the requirements (They do not have a future cruise booked) will be offered BBL's starting from the highest points players and moving down until the allotted offers are handed out. I have had more than 8000 with a future cruise booked and contacted the casino service and been told I was not eligible. (that was after a premier cruise that I sat next to people with 40000 points or more. Yes, I meant to put 4 zeros) This offer BB is for a free room on the cruise of your choice (capacity controlled though) You MUST book it within 2 weeks and take it within 6 months of when you received it. Typically, no additional comps will be included in the offer. Regarding the number of points. As you know they are displayed on the slot machine. You need to make note of them during you last session of play. You may be able to inquire with casino services. They of course know how many points but there is no website that you can look up your points. Regarding the Drinks on us card. You earn the card by accumulating points. On a 5 day or less you need 1000 points and on a 6 day or more you need 1500 points. To have a DOU card waiting for you upon embarkation you will need 5000 points on your previous cruise. The above information was correct as of the end of September 2016. The casino seems to be in a great deal of change lately and have alienated some of my hard core gambling friends. topspin1267 Posted December 27, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 27, 2016 You can email at casino@carnival.com to see if you are prequalified for drinks on us and to see if you have any available comps. From my understanding there is no set point amount to earn the free cruise. We are taking our second freebie this Saturday and I had fewer points last cruise (when I received it) than I did on my 3 before that. supposedly they have a set number available each cruise and they are handed out based on ranking for that cruise. On a premier cruise you may need a lot more points due to the number of gamblers compared to a regular cruise. Not sure if that's 100% but that is what has been reported before. I don't care how they decide as long as they keep giving them to me and my wife. :D
45014 Posted December 27, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 27, 2016 We almost always sail on free casino cruises. We sailed 5 times last year. We are leaving in about 10 days on Carnival and then again in February on NCL. These cruises are far from free! With port taxes and other things it is still a couple hundred dollars, at least. Thanks I booked my third free cruise bounce back offer of the year last month for next April. I had a drinks on us card upon embarkation of my last free cruise, and the bounce back offer I got that cruise states on it that I will have a drinks on us card upon embarkation of my next free cruise. In my experience, there are more cruises to pick from if you receive the bounce back offer during the slower season in the fall. My last free cruise was a 6 night cruise and I ended up with 5,000 points when I received the next bounce back. That offer had cruises from 4 nights to 15 nights. I booked a 5 night. I never ask for casino benefits. They offer me what they want and I only take it if its free. I do know for certain that ship-based casino staff are not allowed to offer you a bounce back if you already have a cruise booked, but have been told land-based casino staff can make the offer if you want to contact them when you get back home if you think you might qualify. I think your yearly cumulative points earned factor into whether you qualify, so be sure to cruise 3 or 4 times a year for that effect. I stopped booking the Premier offers when they upped the points needed on the Premier cruise to qualify for the Ultra Premiere cruise to 7,500 points on one Premier cruise. I've never earned that many points in one cruise.
TNShadyLady Posted December 28, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 28, 2016 I just want to clarify a point, according to my recent experience. We sailed in Sept. 2016, and had a March 2017 cruise already booked at that time. The March cruise came from a land-based casino offer that my sister received, so the cabin is booked in her name and I am just a third passenger in that cabin. Anyway, I earned A LOT of points on the Sept. cruise but was not offered a bounceback cruise. Ship casino staff told me it was because I already had a cruise booked. "A. Cruise." True, we already had the upcoming March cruise booked. But based on what I read here, I called the casino headquarters after returning and asked why I was not offered a bounceback cruise. They told me I wasn't offered one not because I already had "A. Cruise." booked, but rather because it was "A. Casino. Offer. Cruise." (emphasis mine lol) I immediately informed them that the offer was extended to my sister, not to me. I was merely invited along for the cruise. So I myself WAS NOT booked already on a Carnival casino offer cruise. They did not offer me a cruise certificate, but they did offer me a rather nice chunk of change by way of casino cash for the upcoming March cruise, which I gladly accepted. :D So to clarify, bounceback cruises are not given out if you already have a "casino offer cruise" booked. If you have one booked but it is not a casino offer, then that shouldn't have any effect. But don't waste your time arguing with the ship casino staff. Only headquarters can extend an offer if you did not get one onboard. This at least was my experience. Your mileage may vary.
banzaitrey Posted December 28, 2016 #7 Share Posted December 28, 2016 One question, I am a frequent gambler onboard Carnival cruises. However, I spend most of my time at the craps table, blackjack or poker. On my last trip, I gambled for 3-4 hours each the first night and was up $1,500-2,000, yet was never approached about a free DOU card. Any thoughts on how I can get one on my upcoming cruise? Is it harder for them to track on the table games?

You can also ask for the card if you think your play warrants it. It is easier on machines since the slots display your point totals and watchful slot attendants see your total and will get a DOU card for you when you hit 1500 points. Bounce back offers are not extended by ship casino if you have ANY future Carnival cruise, booked. not just casino offers. I have spoken with two Executive Hosts on Premiers who confirmed that (with exception for high rollers) but strongly encouraged me to drop a note to casino@carnival.com after my cruise to which offers were then extended. Is it harder for them to track on the table games? The DOU Card is based on points, as people have listed before. There is a tracking rate of aboutt 2.5 to 3 dollars played through per point earned.. ( this might be different now, I dont play slots anymore so dont trace as closely). the problem is they do not view play through the same on the table games. If you play just the minimum with odds on a number at craps, that is $5 for the first throw, and $15 for the second... so an average about $10 over time... They track exactly how many throws there are at the table ( they use a sensor each time) and they know your average per throw, but you dont get a point per 2.5 to 3 played. Else each throw would be 4 points... that would rack up fast playing for several hrs even at the low states listed. I played at least $10,000 worth of play trough at the craps table on my 13 day Vista Trans Atlantic, and when I asked how many points I had the answer was the house just did not know.... they did offer me a single drink when I pressed them, but that was it. The short of it is, if you want a DOU card, play slots... Once you have the card, it works at the tables too, but you will rarely earn it on the table alone. cruznduo Posted January 1, 2017 #16 Share Posted January 1, 2017 Hi all...I received an e-mail saying that I will be eligible for a Premier Cruise that will be available on January 2nd. The e-mail says that I can preview what the offer will be, but I can't open the message any further. It seems weird to me. I sent an e-mail and left a message for the Casino number, but have never received a reply. I finally got to speak with someone in the Promotions Department who told me that I won't be able to see the offers until January 2nd. I am wondering if anyone else has had this experience and not been able to open the e-mail even though it says to view the info before the official date? I hope someone can tell me if this is normal? Thanks, and a Happy, Safe & Healthy New Year to all of you!
