Been a while...can I drop my carry on to my room?

It's been a while since I've sailed Carnival. Is it still a no-no to swing by my room to drop off my carry on bags? Or do they allow that now? Don't have any interest in lingering in the room...just drop off bags.

Unless you are platinum or diamond or have purchased FTTF its still a No No

The only people that are allowed through the closed doors are Diamond, Platinum, and FTTF. Other than that, you will have to wait until the cabins are ready and they open the doors.

Firemanbobswife is right. If you turn platinum 3 days into your cruise, you will get all the perks and will be given a platinum card.

With FTTF and senority only.

We were able to drop off our carry on bags immediately after entering ship; around noon. Stewards were there & just put them in our closet No FTTF nor a suite

While I am sure you did and that the steward said it was fine, unless you pay for FTTF or earn the perk you are not supposed to enter the hallways.

 

Usually the fire doors are closed and the sign says not to enter. But sometimes the door is left open or the sign isn't seen. I am sure you just didn't know the policy and the RS is not going to anger you upon first meeting by tell you not to put them in the room.

 

This is one of the reasons that the S&S cards are not being issued at check in but rather will be placed in the mailboxes when appropriate.

I does work like that - for our January cruise we were a couple of days short of the next level but given cabin cards with the new level on them:D

The rule varies by cruise line.

Carnival gives you the level you will attain during your cruise when you check in.

It's usually 1 to 1:30pm. Sometimes they have staff outside the doors so you don't go in.

It does work that way. If you hit Platinum during the cruise, you are Platinum from the first day. We were 6 days shy on our 12-day Med cruise back in August and we were platinum from the day we embarked.
