How often are menus changed?

My gf and I were looking over some older menus from the Liberty ahead of our cruise in April and she commented how she would expect that the menus would be different by the time we sail. She has never been on a cruise and my last with Royal was back in '11. However, it did bring up a good question about just how frequently does Royal update their menus? I would think they like to keep them consistently the same for a long as they can for logistic and planning reasons. Do they update them once a season? Every couple of years? Would love to hear some feedback from those that can answer the question with certainty.

seems liked they update them about every 5 years. We started cruising in 2005 and since then the menus have been tweaked twice. Most recently was last year.

They keep them for a LONG time...unless they're getting rid of items...or moving some items to a "specialty" restaurant.
